Applications for IMI's 9th Annual Arbaeen Medical Mission are now closed.

 

IMI's Ninth Annual Arbaeen Medical Mission will take place from October 31 to November 19, 2017, in both Karbala and Najaf.  Applications are open for Medical staff (all medical professionals) as well as separate Dental staff, Pharmacy staff and Administrative staff (open to all including non-health professionals).

Thank you for your interest and passion to serve humanity. Applications for the 9th Annual Arbaeen Medical Mission are now closed.  

 

Applications are solicited annually by all interested in serving at IMI's Annual Arbaeen Medical Missions. As a medical delegation, the majority of applicants who will be accepted are health professionals. However, a limited number of spots are available for medical students and non-health professionals who will commit to serving as administrative help including reporting on daily activities at each camp and taking appropriate pictures. All delegates applying to IMI’s Annual Arbaeen Medical Mission must commit to serving at the medical camps as scheduled by the camp director and that this service will be the primary focus of their trip. Delegates will also be responsible to attend a pre-departure orientation session and post-mission debriefing as well as report on their activities.

 

Please note: emails or messages expressing interest do not count as an application—you will be required to submit the application and ALL of the required material by the deadline for consideration after the application is released for the next mission.  â€‹

 

 

Details below are relevant to current applicants:

 

The application process will be broken into the following stages: 

 

Stage 1. Initial Application: this brief form including your CV and your selection of the camp(s)/duration you will be available/present for work in Iraq.

Stage 2. Interview: Interviews will be conducted by designated members of the Arbaeen Medical Mission Coordinating Committee within a few weeks of your application submission. Those who are selected after the interviews to pass onto stage 3 will be requested to complete a final application and submit their nonrefundable fees. (All interview scheduling emails should be received no later than August 13, 2017.)

Stage 3. Final Application: this final application will require you to complete some additional informational requirements and upload your passport (valid till at least April 2018), digital image, and submit your nonrefundable program cost. Once submitted, you will receive a decision regarding your selection within 2-3 weeks unless otherwise indicated by the committee.

 

 

IMPORTANT NOTE

The situation in Iraq is constantly shifting and volatile. You must be flexible with regards to planning and logistics. While our priority is to serve the health needs of the people in Iraq, should the situation continue to detrioriate plans for Abraeen will be modified based on local risk assessments and security concerns.
